“Highly recommended! Amy is the best on
the island.”

“Amy has been nothing short of incredible! After upgrading to 2 donkeys (aka standard poodles) from many small Bichons over the years I was certainly apprehensive of how to ensure we gave the puppies Astra and Milo the best start, socialization and training we could. Amy has been invaluable in her knowledge, expertise and advice through virtual training and in her puppy playgroups.
She works with your needs and is patient and always available to answer any and every question, and believe me I had plenty! She works with your needs and is patient and always available to answer any and every question, and believe me I had plenty!
She adapts to each dog’s needs and helped us with Milo, who is toy driven vs Astra who is solely food driven, to ensure that they both were progressing in their training. She adapts to each dog’s needs and helped us with Milo, who is toy driven vs Astra who is solely food driven, to ensure that they both were progressing in their training. There is no force or harsh punishments involved for the animals, which was important for us and allowed them to build affectionate and trusting relationships with all members of our family and beyond.
Not only was Amy able to assist with training but she also went out of her way to help me learn the best way to groom Standards given I was only ever dealing with grooming Bichons. She went out of her way to send literature and even watch me groom the puppies and give pointers and advice. We were able to housetrain the puppies on our own pretty quickly, but I have no doubt she would be the best to assist in this area as well!
Amy has helped us immensely and her time, knowledge and passion for the well being of dogs and animals in general is invaluable! Beyond highly recommended – she is a MUST!

“I can definitely attribute Hunter’s successful training to Amy, and recommend her without reservation to anyone who cares for dogs.

During Hunter’s ‘in person’ lessons, he enjoyed the benefit of her sole attention and focus.

More surprisingly, online training with Amy proved just as vibrant.

Every interaction with Amy was high quality. She was sensitive to Hunter’s personality, clear in her communications, and always encouraging.”

– Rachel Van de Weg (Hunter)
“Milo completed basic obedience training with Amy before tackling our long time problem of leash reactivity.

Milo is very playful but would get frustrated on leash when he saw other dogs. He would whine, jump, lunge and generally make a huge fuss to the extent we avoided popular dog walking spots because he was so difficult to control.

Amy set up an excellent training and coaching plan, first focusing on developing cues upon which to treat and reward good behaviour, followed by staged situations with other dogs and then walking in public. By approaching the training in a phased way with an emphasis on coaching, we were able to build up our own awareness and reaction times, hence avoiding further frustration for Milo. Amy’s instructions were very clear, and she was incredibly helpful in answering questions and sharing wider advice. This training program was a great investment and we can now return to the popular dog friendly spots knowing that we have a good handle on our pup!”

“We have been working with Amy for over a year. It is clear she has a passion for animals and animal welfare. Her in depth knowledge of animal behavior and training has helped our dog Buddy become a well mannered, even tempered and well adjusted member of our home and community.

She is patient, professional and ever attentive to each dog and their individual needs.”

“Thank you so much for everything. It was great to have an option for online sessions right after the lockdown. Very informative and very supportive.

As new puppy parents, it was great to get trained with simple, but effective instructions. And yes, I meant that Jack and I got trained too. There is a lot of information on the internet, but all different and confusing. So to have sessions with you was such a great decision.

We really loved your personalized approach and your care for our furry baby. I personally really like the breakdown of all the training into the particular steps and repetition. The email recaps of each session and some homework were so helpful to make sure that we kept up with our training in between the sessions.

Thank you so much for organizing the puppy playgroup to help the pups to socialize with other doggies. What a great option!

All our friends and people we know always compliment us on how well behaved Harry is, and this is definitely a big testimony to your training!”

“Ever since he was a puppy, we have struggled to get our Dachshund, Redd, comfortable with having his nails trimmed. After some traumatic experiences attempting to trim his nails with his regular vet we turned to Amy for help.

Amy’s guidance and patience have completely changed this experience for Redd – while initially, we could only manage two paws at a time, Amy sensed his anxiety and did not pressure or rush Redd. He will now happily hand over all four paws and wag his tail throughout! We’re very grateful for Amy’s professional and gentle touch helping to keep Redd’s nails trimmed and healthy.”

– Brian & Michelle (Redd)
“The Dog Gone Good playgroup has been great for my dog but I truly believe the greatest value comes from what the owners learn and experience as they observe their dog.

As the dogs play you have the unique opportunity to turn to a trained expert and ask ‘what does it mean when my dog does that?’. It’s like learning a new language and I feel so much more in tune with my dog because I have learned to ‘read’ him.

Amy is eager to share the knowledge she has gained from her years of studying and training dogs.”

“Dougal just loves doggy playgroup – highlight of his week. It’s just fantastic for a dog to be able to run around, unleashed, and play in a safe environment, with someone who is watching behaviours and knows whether there is a need to intervene or not.

Dougal comes home utterly exhausted having run and run and run. It’s fantastic! It’s also great for me as his owner to know that he’s really well socialised, is used to interacting with dogs of all sizes and personalities, which brings both Dougal and I confidence when he comes across other dogs during his daily walks.

And last but not least, it’s great for owners to be able to chat through things with other dog owners, both dog related and just socially. Love it!”

“Amy has been a master at helping Stella with impulse control and Stella loves working with her. Everyone who comes to the house comments on how Stella’s behavior is much more controlled and she demonstrates much better manners around young children. Amy is incredibly communicative and patient and her knowledge is exemplified as she can answer any question on the spot.

Amy is great at not only working with Stella, but also teaching Patrick and I how to communicate with Stella and build to the actual skill we are trying to achieve. Amy is very responsive to questions in between lessons and is an absolute pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend her to absolutely anyone looking for assistance with their pup!”

– Melanie Fullerton (Stella)
“Thank you so much, Amy! We had a very difficult time the first few weeks we had him. You have made the quality of my daily life so much better. Henry and I enjoy our training sessions with you. I can’t thank you enough for your help and support. I admire how dedicated you are to your human and canine students not to mention your expertise. You’re awesome!”
– JoAnne Sedgwick (Henry)
“Amy is a joy to work with. She is extremely professional and has an incredible talent to understand and evaluate my puppy’s behavior. She has patience with both me and Kaylee.

What I enjoyed most about our sessions is that Amy would demonstrate with Kaylee what was needed for each behavior that I wanted to work on and then would have me run through the drill and coach me. I was amazed that in no time at all Kaylee was doing what was asked of her. I highly recommend Amy.”

– Claudia Jensen (Kaylee)
“Amy has helped us with training our Rhodesian Ridgeback since he was five months old. Her techniques are very effective and based on a system of reinforcement. We continue to see positive results as Rocky matures and is now a pleasure to walk.

We also participate in Amy’s play group and have seen positive socialization improvements. Her venue allows the dogs to run in an open space which is normally hard to find in Bermuda.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Amy to any dog owner who would want to have a responsive and well trained dog.”

– Sharon Sousa (Rocky)
“We’ve been working with Amy for a couple of months because we adopted a nervous Poodle and she has been absolutely amazing! I recommend her to everyone I know who needs a little help with behavioral issues.
Fred came to us very withdrawn and showing a lot of signs of fear – thankfully not aggression – but we were worried about how to handle him without making the fear worse. Amy was able to assess him while respecting his boundaries and teach us to do the same.
She worked with our vet to find the right combination of anxiety medication along with training to help Fred adjust to “scary” stimuli. She was patient and we always felt like she listened and read Fred’s behaviour to make sure that he was comfortable with the situation before continuing the training. We have had Fred for almost a year now and he is a completely different dog. He’s happy and bouncy, although is still on his anxiety medication, he can interact with new people without retreating. He goes on car rides to new places and we will be teaching him to swim this summer!
Amy helped us through each new fear from having people enter Fred’s home to encountering a ladder on his walk and now we can manage his fear with her techniques. “
I especially liked that Amy gives you the tools to succeed in the training, and wants you to be able to train on your own.

Fred is coping quite well on his own right now, but I know that in the future if we ever need some more guidance, Amy will be the only one we see! I had the pleasure of seeing Amy work with another dog who did not have any fear issues and she was great with her too.

Anyone who wants to learn some new training techniques, help their furry friend get past a fear issue, or teach the “leave it” cue which has proven to be a good one, should contact Amy. I highly recommend her to every dog owner! Thanks so much Amy!”

“Amy takes the time to listen to your areas of concern and builds an individual plan with achievable steps for you and your dog. Amy is patient, listens to your questions, and answers them in a way that is best-fitted for your dog and your own personal training success.

I would highly recommend working with Amy if you are looking for someone that makes training more understandable for you, and most importantly, done in a positive reinforcement approach for your dog.”

– Danielle Castle (Wylie)
“Amy has been working with me and my dog Scrappy to strengthen Scrappy’s recall and my ability to recall her in a way that is positive and productive. The result has been pretty amazing.

Amy developed a plan for each training session and then followed up after the session to highlight what went well, where further work is needed and next steps. We made progress at each session which was very encouraging.

Amy has a wonderful way with dogs (and their owners) which made the sessions fun as well as productive.

One of the things I like most about working with Amy is that she is direct and clear in her communication about what we are doing and why, and how to build on the earlier training. Amy is also really good at sharing her knowledge and experience which really adds to the value of working with her.

I would not hesitate to use Amy again for a specific training need and wholeheartedly recommend her services.”

“This past summer both of my dogs became extremely lead reactive to other dogs on walks. The minute they spotted another dog, even from a far distance, they’d start barking, growling and lunging/pulling towards the other dog. I came across a video of Amy doing lead reactive training with another dog on Facebook and decided to contact her. It was the best decision I could have made.

The change in their behaviour after the training sessions with Amy is incredible. While it is still a work in progress, the difference when we see a dog out on a walk is like night and day.

Amy’s positive reinforcement training techniques and the way she communicates, to both dogs and owners is excellent. I have thoroughly enjoyed the training sessions with Amy and can honestly say they have been worth every penny! I would without a doubt highly recommend using Amy if you are looking for a trainer for your dogs.”

“We can’t get enough of Amy! We use her training, playgroup and travel care services.

As new puppy parents, we didn’t know the first thing about training and Amy really helped to guide us. Amy is reliable, professional, knowledgeable and fun. Most important, Beck loves her – and not just because she brings the high-value treats! Amy has created such a positive association for training and her methods are effective.

The weekly playgroup is the best 45 minutes of Beck’s week and he’s an exhausted puppy when we get home. Having Amy train or walk or play with Beck whilst we are traveling really helps to put our mind at ease and we can feel confident that his needs are being met even when we can’t be with him.

Beck is a sweet, well-mannered dog and we have Amy to thank for so much of that. We recommend her without hesitation.”

– Kevin & Nicole Downs (Beck)
“Amy’s approach to training and her interaction with dogs was in line with ours. Gentle and respectful with results!

Our goal was to have a close happy relationship with our well behaved dog. We achieved this through Amy’s invaluable help and have a better understanding of our dogs’ needs. Amy’s passion and love of dogs shows in the way she works.

We highly recommend Amy’s services to other dog owners. Amy is approachable, professional and genuinely cares about the well being of her clients and furry friends.”

“Amy had a definitive plan with very clear directions and time lines. There was no “I think” or let’s try”. She knows exactly the steps to take and the order in which to take them. It’s working and makes us confident that we are on the right track.

Amy treats each dog as an individual and tailors her training plans to that dog’s personality and needs. She shows us (the humans) exactly what to do and what not to do when communicating and working with our dogs. She uses positive training methods for both dogs and humans (as a human I appreciate that!). She’s calm and easy with the dogs and it’s clear she likes them and they like her back.”
