Who is Basic Manners training suitable for?

Basic training is suitable for puppies or adult dogs who need basic life skills. It is not suitable for dogs that are fearful, aggressive, reactive, or anxious. If your dog struggles with fear or aggression, please fill out an intake form for a new client Behavior Consultation. If your dog suffers from Separation Anxiety, please visit that page, and fill out the intake form.

If your dog is found to have behavior challenges like fear, reactivity, anxiety or aggression, your package will be switched to a behavior consultation package and any additional fees will be applied.

We can work online or in-person.

Basic manners includes:

  • Teaching basic life skills like: sit, down, recall, stay, leave it, and loose lead walking.
  • Reducing jumping up
  • Housetraining
Highly Recommended!
“Amy has been a master at helping Stella with impulse control and Stella loves working with her. Everyone who comes to the house comments on how Stella’s behavior is much more controlled and she demonstrates much better manners around young children. Amy is incredibly communicative and patient and her knowledge is exemplified as she can answer any question on the spot. Amy is great at not only working with Stella, but also teaching Patrick and I how to communicate with Stella and build to the actual skill we are trying to achieve. Amy is very responsive to questions in between lessons and is an absolute pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend her to absolutely anyone looking for assistance with their pup!”

Patient, Professional and Attentive!
“We have been working with Amy for over a year. It is clear she has a passion for animals and animal welfare. Her in depth knowledge of animal behavior and training has helped our dog Buddy become a well mannered, even tempered and well adjusted member of our home and community. She is patient, professional and ever attentive to each dog and their individual needs.”

Amazing Online and In-person training
“I can attribute Hunter’s successful training to Amy and recommend her without reservation to anyone who cares for dogs. During Hunter’s ‘in person’ lessons, he enjoyed the benefit of her sole attention and focus. More surprisingly, online training with Amy proved just as vibrant. Every interaction with Amy was high quality. She was sensitive to Hunter’s personality, clear in her communications, and always encouraging.”
